This thanksgiving is gonna be different. I’m even gonna go head and use the word unprecedented, because we haven’t heard it enough, amiright? So everything im going to make for my family, will be special, different, but in small amounts. These S’mores bars are so perfect for a quick dessert that’s decadent enough to make for thanksgiving, but if you double the batch it could keep on giving all weekend long. It’s the type you need to hide from your kids though, because if you make it the night before, you’re gonna be dessert less on thanksgiving day.
The ingredients are very simple, and this comes together so quickly, it’s perfect to make with kids.
Here’s what you’ll need for a small batch, made in a 6″ round tin. You can easily double to triple the recipe.
1 cup crushed graham cracker crumbs + 2 Tblspn for later
3 Tblspn melted butter
3/4 cup mini marshmallows
1/2 cup dark chocolate discs
1/4 can condensed milk (not evaporated milk. the thick, sweet kind)
Preheat your oven to 375 F. Mix the 1 cup graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press into the bottom of a very well greased and lined baking tin. Bake for about 10 minutes. Then cool completely.
Evenly spread out the marshmallows and chocolate chips. Drizzle over the condensed milk, then sprinkle over the 2 Tblspn graham cracker crumbs. Bake for another 12-15 minutes, till the marshmallows kinda get toasty, Then remove from the oven, cool completely. Refrigerate for at least an hour then cut into pieces. Store in an airtight container, not that you’ll have leftovers.
Tip: the marshmallows get really sticky when melted so make sure you use non stick parchment paper or grease really well.
