Method
- Start by adding the coffee, sugar and water to your blender. Blend for 1-2 minutes, or until it has tripled in volume and is pale in color.
- Then add the milk and ice and blend until the ice has completely crushed and the drink is smooth. You can blend the ice cream with the coffee as well, although I prefer having a scoop in my glass.
- Serve over a scoop of vanilla or coffee ice cream and add whipped cream on top. Serve immediately. This makes 2 large servings or 3 small.
Notes
Make this more kid friendly. You an easily make this more kid friendly by adding 2/3 tablespoon of instant coffee instead of the full tbsp. It'll give a milder coffee flavor.
Make this dairy free. You can easily make this dairy free by replacing the milk with your favorite non dairy milk replacement (oat milk, almond milk. for example) and skip the ice cream. If you don't want to skip the shipped cream, you can use whipped coconut cream.
Add some flavor. You can easily turn this into a flavored frappe y adding your favorite flavors in the form of essence or syrups. Add a tiny splash of vanilla for a vanilla frappe, or a drizzle of caramel for a caramel frappe. Use any flavored syrups to add flavor as well. just make sure to adjust the sugar content because these flavor syrups are very sweet on their own.
