Yeah, you read that correctly. I present to you all, S’mores Trifle. It’s so decadent and so rich but so right at the same time. It’s also the closest i’ll ever get to making s’mores around a campfire. This trifle will make up for any s’mores you’re missing out on making over a camp fire. Trust me.
It starts with a delicious batch of brownies. Now you can make my recipe of brownies or your own, heck, even use a boxed mix, because no matter how much you cringe at the sound of boxed mixes, they’re pretty great and they can always be found in my pantry, and i’m sure in yours too.
Here’s what you need:
1 batch of brownies
1 jar of marshmallow fluff
1 large tub of cool whip or 3 cups lightly sweetened whipped cream
2 cups coarsely crushed graham crackers
1 piping bag
You can use any serving dish you desire, but I like sticking to a good old classic trifle bowl. I love how you can see the layers through the glass bowl and also, the height just gives it extra importance, as all trifles should get.
Cut the brownies into squares and layer half the brownies on the bottom of the trifle bowl.
Spread over half the whipped cream/coolwhip, and sprinkle over half of the crushed graham crackers. Repeat with the remaining brownies, cream and crushed graham crackers.
Then here’s what’ll take it over the top. Transfer the marshmallow fluff into the piping bag, cut off a the tip and pipe the fluff onto the top. If you have a blowtorch you can brown the top a little, but I don’t have one so I just left it as is. Chill it for a couple hours before serving, and prepare to be amazed!
