About

Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Fatima and I’m the face behind Sconce & Scone. If you love food, and love cooking for family and friends, then you’re in the right place! That’s what Sconce & Scone is all about, good food and good company. I hope you enjoy browsing and trying my recipes as much as I enjoy creating them.

I started this blog in 2009 under a different name, maybe some of you remember it? Piece of Cake was great, but as the years passed it didn’t seem to fit anymore, so here we are with Sconce & Scone. And why Sconce & Scone you ask? Well, it’s pretty simple! I love a good Sconce! It adds so much to a room. And you know what else I love? A good scone, and Sconce & Scone came to be.

I live in Chicago with my Husband and two daughters, where I spend my days feeding my family and creating recipes for brands I love! I’ve  recently started  dabbling in food photography and product photography and I love that as well, although my dream has always been to write a cook book. If you would like to work with me, please send an email to fatima@sconceandscone.com and I’ll get back to you very soon.

I absolutely adore food, and I thrive on simplifying recipes. I used to bake more, but when I got married and moved to Germany, I found myself in a completely different environment with different foods and foreign ingredients. I missed home (Lahore) like no other. That’s when my cooking journey began, and I started simplifying all those recipes that seem so complicated when your mom or grandmother explains them to you. I turned complicated dishes like Biryani and Cheesecake into fuss free, to the point recipes with common ingredients. My aim is to provide recipes that can be made no matter where you live, even without access to specialty grocery stores.

I’ve been baking custom cakes and goods for as long as I’ve been blogging! I recently launched a limited menu of mini cakes and cupcakes, click here to see the menu and click here to place an order! Unfortunately they’re only available in the Chicagoland Area, I haven’t quite gotten the hang of mailing baked goods. I have some recipes under the desserts category for you to try that you’ll love!

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to get in touch here or leave a comment below any recipe and I’ll get back to you very soon!
