Healthy Shrimp Stir Fry

I’m just being more thoughtful about the calories that go into them. And let me tell you, counting calories is so eye opening. Take this healthy shrimp stir fry for example. It is a huge portion, and comes in at under 310 calories. How is that possible, you ask? Just by tweaking the ingredients a bit…

Mongolian Chicken

Mongolian Chicken

Guys, this one is really special. I’ve been making Mongolian Chicken for a while now and now I’m finally sharing one of my favorite recipes! The sauce is just on another level with its savory and sweet notes. My version is also a bit on the healthier side, using much less sugar than traditional recipes, but don’t worry. This doesn’t compromise the flavor at all. I just use my secret ingredient to add some sweetness while giving the sauce a nice sheen. All in all, this will definitely become a favorite in your home, weekend or weeknight. I switch up the protein and it works great with beef and shrimp!

Chicken with Almonds

This recipe is one that I have been after for many years. It was written in a cookbook by my mom, then ripped out and placed in another, then it was misplaced and lost forever. One day, I was in the kitchen, about to fix up some Spicy Chicken Manchurian, when I decided I was going to attempt making Chicken with Almonds from memory. I vaguely remembered my mom making it, and with just half of the ingredients in mind, I began mixing and experimenting with sauces until I had my “Aha!” moment, and it was definitely worth the effort.

I always used to get FOMO when we’d go out for Chinese food in Michigan, because we couldn’t order the chicken spring rolls because they weren’t halal. I think that’s why I always eat these in abundance when I make them, the kid in me still hasn’t gotten enough. But when I lived in Lahore, and whenever I visit, these spring rolls are a staple in every home. Every afternoon tea is bare without some form of fried food, and these spring rolls are almost always there. So why should you be left behind? Everyone should know how to make these, and this recipe is super easy.

Chicken Chili Dry

Chicken Chili Dry

Chicken Chili Dry is one of the most popular Chinese dishes for a reason. It’s dry, as the name suggests, but packs so much flavor. Each piece of chicken is coated in a thin crispy layer that absorbs all the flavored oil its pan fried in. I’m a garlic lover though and through, but the ginger in this Chicken Chili Dry is phenomenal. As always, this recipe is easy, quick and full of flavor. I always make double batch of this because I eat half of it while I’m getting ready to serve it.
